After reading “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” with my class, one of my students had a startling revelation about a connection between Santa and Jesus.
“Does Santa bring Baby Jesus with him on his sleigh? My mommy says that Jesus watches me to make sure I am good, and Santa does, too. I know; they must be friends! Sometimes I hope that they don’t see me too much. It is hard to be good ALL the time.”
I guess when you’re five, Jesus and Santa both rank pretty high on your list of priorities.
Hopefully when they realize the truth about Santa, they won’t forget the truth about Jesus.
